2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus
One of the famous car collector, Jay Leno, took out one of the most impressive car models ever, the 2017 Audi R8 V10 Plus, for a spin. In V10 Plus trim, the Audi makes over 600 horsepower – all from a naturally-aspirated V10 in a segment increasingly dominated by turbocharging.
The same 5.2-liter naturally aspirated V10 engine, upgraded from the one used on the previous model, is found under its hood and is rated at 540PS (532hp), on the entry-level version, while the range-topping R8 V10 Plus has the same output as the Huracan, at 600PS, for a 0-100km/h (62mph) acceleration in 3.2 seconds and a 330km/h (205mph) top speed.
Rivals like the Mercedes-AMG GT, Porsche 911 Turbo, McLaren 570S, and Ferrari 488 have all adopted turbochargers, which makes the R8 something of a a modern-day Shelby Cobra, as Leno puts it. See what else he has to say in the video above – and don't forget to watch to the end to see how the launch control works.
